His arm made her feel so secure that she felt like she never wanted to move. Maddie looked up and saw that she was lying under the stars in the arms of the man of her dreams. She rolled over and put her head on his chest and she felt his arm hold her tighter than it had before. The guy kissed her on top of her head…
“Beep! Beep! Beep!”
Maddie’s alarm clock chimed at six o’clock and she sat up in her bed. “Darn it! I wish that that had been real. Can you say ‘Man of my dream?’ ” She got up out of bed and looked around at her room. It was very plain and there was nothing really special about it. The walls were a pale pink that she had liked when she was seven and there was a poster of a dancer on her wall that her grandmother had given her for her birthday. Maddie had never really put much thought into changing her room because she never spent that much time on it. Other than sleeping, she never came in her room. She finished most of her homework after school in the library and usually hung out at Lexi house. “Breakfast!” her mom yelled from downstairs. She ran down the stair and sat down at her regular seat that she had sat in every morning for the whole time that she had lived in her house.
After taking a quick shower and putting on the outfit that she and Lexi picked out the night before, Maddie ran down stairs again to wait for Lexi to pick her up. “You seem very happy this morning. Is there something going on at school that I should know about?” her mother questioned at the sight of the large smile on her daughter’s face. “It’s nothing mom, really. I am just looking forward to today for some reason. It feels like something great is going to happen.”
Outside, Lexi honked the horn and waited for her friend to come out. She was shocked when she had been waiting for ten minutes because she thought that Maddie would want to get to school but she guessed she was wrong. At last, after a little while longer, Maddie, with a huge smile on her face, came out of the house. “Where have you been? I thought that today, of all days, you would want to get to school extra early.” Lexi thought. “Well I would have been out here ten minutes ago if it hadn’t been for my mother’s regular morning interrogation.” Lexi laughed at the thought of Maddie’s mom shining a light in her face and asking her, “Where were you last night?”
Maddie rushed to her first class in the hopes that it and the following classes would rush by but she was wrong. Biology dragged on for ever and she wasn’t sure that it was ever going to end. Math made her want to thrown up and her Health class couldn’t have been more boring. Finally, it was time to go to History. She had waited all day for this class to come and now it was finally here. She was so giddy that she couldn’t help but to smile. She passed people in the halls that gave her funny looks and she didn’t care. Nothing could bring her down today.
The door to the History class was right near her locker and she rushed over hoping to grab a seat next to the guy she liked. As she walked over to the door, a man came over the intercom and said, “Madison Sagus, please come down to the office and bring your books with you...that will be all.” She began to walk down the long hall, away from her History room.
